Do you wish you had more energy? Are you yawning or sighing all day? Pounding espressos or energy drinks? Taking naps? Do you wonder if something is wrong or if that’s how it feels to get old?

You could get bloodwork done and discuss your hormone levels, thyroid function, or any data points with your doctor. The problem is that no blood test markers can reliably predict your energy level. Many people have chronic low energy and get bloodwork done, and the doctor tells them everything is “normal.” Wouldn’t it be great if there were a test that reliably correlates with energy levels? There is a test that can be done in less than a minute and costs no money, and it’s called the BOLT score.

I learned about the BOLT score through a Breathing for Energy program created by Ari Whitten. The program focuses on improved breathing to provide the following benefits:

  • build powerful mitochondria
  • boost energy
  • reduce anxiety
  • eliminate brain fog
  • sleep better
  • improve immune function
  • boost exercise performance

The program’s first step is to learn how to assess your BOLT score to establish a baseline and track your results over time.
