I find writing headlines to be very annoying. I don’t like the manipulation involved to pull the reader to the story, perhaps because I have been disappointed too many times by headlines that made me click a story with which I was ultimately disappointed. I know it’s a necessary evil, but my approach is now about truth. I’m going to promise something in the headline and I’m going to deliver it. No bait and switch.
